The joint meeting of the 20th World Conference of the Spatial Econometrics Association & the 24th International Workshop in Spatial Econometrics and Statistics (SEA & SEW 2026) will take place on June 17-18, 2026. It is organized by Paris research center in Law and Economics (CRED) at Paris-Panthéon-Assas University.

Sir Oliver HART, professor at Harvard University and 2016 co-recipient of the SverigesRiksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel, will present “Citizen Investors”, MONDAY 1st December at 10h30 at CRED, before receiving the honorary doctorate (Doctorate Honoris causa) from our university.

Pierre BACHAS (World Bank Development Research Group and EU Tax Observatory) will present “The Transparency Tax: Discouraging firm ownership via tax havens in Ecuador”, coauthored with Jakob BROUNSTEIN (IFS) and Alex BAJAÑA (Centro de Investigacion Estadistica ERGOSTATS Ecuador).

On December 11, 2024, the French Association of Law and Economics (AFED) and the Robert Badinter Institute organized a public conference to open the AFED's annual congress, hosted by CRED at Panthéon-Assas University, entitled “Duty of care and new obligations for companies and organizations.”

This meeting provided an opportunity to examine the new obligations imposed on companies and organizations in a changing national and European context, with a view to promoting more responsible practices.

Presentations by Bruno Deffains, Kathia Martin-Chenut, Pierre Chevalier, Alice Navarro, and Chloé Le Coq outlined the various dimensions of this duty of care:

* the gradual development of the standard and its implications for economic actors,

* the uncertainties surrounding the relationship between French and European law,

* the associated economic and social challenges.

This conference also highlighted the need for ongoing dialogue between lawyers, economists, practitioners, and researchers in order to better understand and support the effective implementation of these obligations.

CRED is pleased to welcome Guillaume AUBIAN, a specialist in theoretical computer science and graph theory, who has just been appointed Assistant Professor (Maître de conférences) at Paris-Panthéon-Assas University.

Un poste de Maître de Conférences en informatique (section 27) est ouvert au concours à l’université Paris-Panthéon-Assas, pour la rentrée 2025. Une attention particulière sera portée aux dossiers sur la thématique théorie des jeux, théorie algorithmique des jeux, l’IA, mais le poste est ouvert à tout profil intéressant.
Le poste est proposé avec une intégration au sein du CRED (Centre de Recherche en Économie et Droit) dont les membres sont principalement économistes, mais avec également des ECs en mathématiques et en informatique. Ce poste constitue une opportunité de collaboration avec des chercheurs de différentes disciplines.
La plupart des membres du centre travaille sur de la micro-économie appliquée, et les thèmes de recherches investis sont liés à l’analyse économique du droit, au fonctionnement des marchés et aux technologies, ainsi qu’aux politiques publiques.
Les enseignements seront adressés à un public de non-informaticiens. La personne recrutée pourra intervenir dans les enseignements qui vont de la bureautique à des enseignements plus spécifiques comme de la Data science, du big data, ou d’algorithmique et de programmation (Python, VBA, SQL ou R).
